SUSUMU KAMIJO: THE SINNER AT DUSK

Avant Art is launching their first sculpture edition with Susumu Kamijo, ’The Sinner at Dusk’ which is loosely based on his drawing, ‘When She Returned’ (2020). It will be an edition of 50 and is made from walnut wood and oil paint with a matt protective oil coating.

Nonchalant poodle glamour takes centre stage in Susumu Kamijo’s bright and playful painting and drawing.

Kamijo is known for his colourful, stylised compositions of poodles. The Japanese artist works across paper and canvas using a mixture of materials including oil pastel, pencil, and pen, as well as acrylic and oil paint. Kamijo’s use of block colour and isolated shapes accrue into recognisable compositions with a hard-edged, graphic style. Varied texture is created through cross-hatching, repetitive patterning, and layering paint

The Sinner at Dusk will be available in an edition of 50 measuring 35 x 21 x 28 cm on Wednesday February 17th on Avant Arte.
